Hip deep in shit.
Literally.
On Monday evening, M was coming home from work and decided to stop for gas over near the projects. As he was getting ready to leave, he noticed 2 tiny puppies wandering, about to go into traffic. No one was around, no other dogs, only a couple who said "Are these yours?" to which he replied, "NO! Are they yours?" Nope. So I got a call that went something like this: "Hon, it's me. I have two puppies in my hands. What should I do?" To which I replied, "Put them down." He told me the situation and said he couldn't just leave them to get hit by cars on this busy road. "Ok. Bring them home."
So begins our life as temporary foster parents for two darling little girls, who we've named Trixie and Simone. They're heartbreakers. We brought them to the vet yesterday to get checked out, and they're doing great. They're 8 weeks old, and full of puppy energy (and poo). Parker is not too happy, but that's because we're keeping them totally separate until we can be sure that they don't have any of those funky puppy illnesses that don't show up for a week after their vaccinations. So we keep them in the large bathroom and Parker has run of the house, then we lock Parker in the bedroom and take them outside to get their almost limitless energy out. They're such sweethearts. We're going to try to bring them to a no-kill shelter today so they can go to their new family. Half of me (the stupid, irrational half) says "Keep them! They're fun and loving and Parker will love them!" then the other half (the less-stupid and irrational) says "Are you an idiot? Do you know how hard it is to get someone to watch Parker when you go out of town? Try 3 dogs. Jackass."
So, here they are. Trixie and Simone, the latest in M's quest to be possibly the nicest person on earth. Oh, and if you know someone who is looking for a pup or two, drop me a line. They come with dog food.
Trixie Lulubelle, Princess Supreme

And, I'll end this post with the following: If you don't spay and neuter your pets, you're an idiot. There is no "unless you're going to breed them" attached here. There is NO REASON to breed them. People are dumping puppies and kittens on the side of the freeway because they can't take care of them. You need to do this. Period. If not, I'll start posting pictures of puppy mills. And nobody needs to see that. And, stop making designer dogs, people. Shishipoo is NOT a breed. Cockapei, PekiWieler, whatever you want to call them...they're mutts. And mutts are ok. Just don't breed them, jackass. Go to the local shelter and you'll see how many designer breeds have been dumped because people don't think. /rant
