The Bug
I've got the bug.
I'm itching.
I need to travel. I spend pointless, countless hours contemplating what I would do if I were to win the lottery, and almost all of it involves travelling. But, we're not in the "what should we do with all this damn money" stage of our lives, so for now...it's dreaming. For my readers who do a lot of travel, how do you plan it? How do you afford it? The trips I want to take aren't easily done in a few days, or on a limited budget. Maybe I should start an account just for this. I figure, if I put away $50/week, in a year I'll have $2,600 - enough for me. If M does the same thing, then we could both go.
Here are the top ten place I *must* travel to:
1. China/Taiwan
2. Japan
3. Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia)
4. South Africa
5. Austrailia
6. Croatia
7. India
8. Spain
9. Greece
10. Italy
The spots in Europe seem like the most easliy accessible, if for language reasons only. A ticket to Tokyo is only 65K miles on American, or $1,200 in cash. I don't do tours, and I hate American-type resorts/hotels, so likely I'd be going solo or with M. I need to do this. I realize that planning these trips keeps me sane. I was just looking at my friends pictures of her trip to Taiwan, and I was seething with jealousy. Granted, she's Taiwanese, so it was easy for her to get around since she has family there and is a native speaker. I need to go.
For Christmas, I would like your AA miles. Thanks!

I would so LOVE to be a person who travels and enjoys it. I hate the part of myself that is too scared and keeps me home. If I had any miles, I'd give them to you.
